Camp Specific FAQ's

Yes, we welcome newcomers and returning students. At TechWiz we believe that helping kids unlock their fullest potential is important.

1. Full Refund for Early Cancellations:
– Participants who cancel at least two weeks before the camp starts are eligible for a full refund.

2. Partial Refund for Late Cancellations:
– Cancellations made within the two weeks leading up to the camp start date will receive a partial refund 50% of the camp fee.

3. No Refund for Last-Minute Cancellations:
– No refunds will be provided for cancellations made after the camp has started.

4. Transfer Option:
– Participants may have the option to transfer their registration to a future camp date (if available) instead of receiving a refund.

5. Medical or Emergency Exceptions:
– You can provide a doctors note that allows for exceptions in cases of medical emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, documentation or a valid explanation is required.

6. Minimum Enrollment Requirement:
– The camp is subject to a minimum enrollment, and if the minimum is not met, the camp may be canceled, and participants will receive a full refund.

7. Refund Processing Time:
-Expect timeframe for processing refunds to 2 weeks. 

  • Elementery classes are lead by Amey Totoram
  • Middle School classes are led by Jason Ramsingh
  • High School classes are led by Randell Balkaran

All classes are overseen by Elsa Balkaran and programs are created and designed by the entire team at TechWiz Coding Camp

We recommend that parents walk their child to the camp room designated inside the Heritage Center.

Parents should NOT be late for pickup and drop-off times, if parents are late for pickup they will be charged $50.00 late pickup charge for anytime beyond the designed one-hour session. Beyond the 30 minute you will be charged $200.00. This fee is NOT part of TechWiz Coding Camp but the Heritage Center Lakeville late check-out fees.

We recommend you show a few minutes earlier to pickup your kid as to avoid any late fees, again we did not impose these fees but part of the Heritage Center Lakeville. 

No, please have your child snacks before or after classes. We try to keep a clean environments for all and should be respected.

Yes, we will work with your child with special needs and help in anyway we can to ensure they are benefiting from our program. Please ensure to note this during registration so we can proper accommodate for your child. 

Coding Safety

Yes, coding involves logical thinking and problem-solving, which can contribute to improved math skills.

Websites like Code.org, Khan Academy, and Scratch provide excellent resources for kids learning to code.

No, coding skills are valuable in various fields, not just in technology. It fosters critical thinking and creativity.

Monitor the websites they visit, use child-friendly coding platforms, and teach them about online safety practices.

Coding Future

Coding skills can open doors to various career opportunities, enhance problem-solving abilities, and foster a mindset of continuous learning.

Yes, toys like Ozobot, Sphero, and LEGO Mindstorms provide hands-on coding experiences.

Offer positive reinforcement, break down tasks into smaller steps, and emphasize the importance of learning from mistakes.

Generally, starting with block-based languages like Scratch , Code.org and moving on to text-based languages like Python is a common progression.

Coding Access

Absolutely! Many coding camps and clubs promote collaboration, allowing kids to learn and code together.

Yes, there are unplugged coding activities that teach coding concepts without using a computer, using games and puzzles.

Our coding platform provider provide progress tracking, and you can also review the projects your child completes.
